Mominul Islam

Hello there! Welcome to my website! I'm a PhD student in Computer Science at Tulane University, advised by Dr. Jiyuan Wang. My research interests include quantum computing, with a focus on parameterized quantum circuit optimization, classical machine learning methods for quantum optimization, quantum chemistry, and noise aware optimization for near term quantum devices. I also retain a broader interest in natural language processing, particularly semantic representation and retrieval augmented generation.

Before Tulane, I completed my BSc in Computer Science and Engineering at North South University. I have experience as a Lecturer, Lab Instructor, and Teaching Assistant, having taught and mentored over 1,200 students, and I collaborated with the NSU Center for Quantum Computing. You can also step back in time to see the projects and course notes from those years.
